Britain's Mimi Rhodes and Leona Maguire, of Ireland, have earned wildcard picks for Europe's Solheim Cup team to take on the United States in the Netherlands next month. Captain Anna Nordqvist has selected Maguire despite missing four cuts in her last six tournaments, including last week's AIG Women's Open at Royal Lytham and St Annes. The Irishwoman has fallen to 79 in the world but has an impressive record in her three Solheim Cups to date. Rhodes, who will be making her debut, is 92nd in the world rankings and failed to make the weekend in four tournaments in a row before finishing tied 51st at last month's Scottish Open. The Englishwoman has been selected alongside two other rookies: Julia Lopez Ramirez of Spain and France's Nastasia Nadaud, neither of whom feature in the world's top 80 players. "Leona has proved herself at the Solheim Cup," said Nordqvist. "She has a huge passion for the European team and her record speaks for itself. "She is a player you want on your team especially in matchplay and I'm thrilled to pick her." In her debut five years ago, Maguire won four and a half points out of five and has an overall record of eight wins, one half and just three defeats in 12 matches.
