England's netballers are outclassed 68-50 by Australia in their quest to win bronze at the Commonwealth Games.

England captain Fran Williams wants to make up for Commonwealth Games disappointment by winning next year's Netball World Cup England netball head coach Anna Stembridge says she will "reassess" whether she can continue in the role after the Roses missed out on a medal at the Commonwealth Games. Her team were outclassed 68-50 by world number one side Australia in their quest to win bronze at the Commonwealth Games. Stembridge - who also led England to fourth place at the Glasgow 2014 Games - was appointed in March after her predecessor Jess Thirlby stepped down, with discussions about the longer-term role always expected to take place after the tournament. "I think it's a real tough one to swallow in terms of not coming away with a medal," Stembridge told BBC Sport. "I've also been really honest from the start. I was fiercely focused on this tournament and I will just take some time to reassess and decide what's right for me and my family, but then also what's right for England Netball. "I think it was important that we were transparent, that we were open around the interviews that will take place in the near future, but I just need to sit in this hurt for a minute and get over this loss," she added. The day after Saturday morning's frustrating semi-final loss to New Zealand, England tried to rally themselves to get on the podium but came up against a Diamonds team recovering from one of the biggest shocks in the tournament's history.
