A grandfather was sent flying eight feet into the air after an agitated bison charged him during an evening walk through Yellowstone National Park. The unnamed man was strolling through Bridge Bay Campground with his grandson Friday night when they were suddenly confronted by the angry animal, according to Cowboy State Daily. It charged through the trees toward the grandfather, violently tossing him upside down into the air before he crashed to the ground. 'The bison hooked him with his left horn on his hip and tossed him in the air,' Mike MacLeod, a Montana man photographing the area, told the outlet. 'He made a perfect flip and landed on his side,' he added. 'The bison was at least six feet tall, and the victim was several feet above him.' Once the beast was gone, witnesses rushed to the man and found him suffering from intense pain in his hips and the leg he landed on, despite there being no obvious external injuries. 'One guy held his hand. Another guy pulled security on the outside to make sure that bison didn't come back,' MacLeod said. 'A gal in a car was on the phone with 911, and another gal did a blood sweep, but we couldn’t find any blood.' The victim’s grandson told MacLeod that his grandfather suffered 'some pretty significant injuries' and was still not 'out of the woods yet.'
