Leeds United sign defender Tarik Muharemovic for £34.1m from Serie A side Sassuolo.

Leeds United have signed defender Tarik Muharemovic for £34.1m from Serie A side Sassuolo. The 23-year-old Bosnia-Herzegovina international has signed a five-year deal at Elland Road. He is a replacement for Pascal Struijk, who joined Brighton for £20m in June, and is Leeds' second signing of the summer after Harry Wilson's free transfer from Fulham. "I will give everything for this club. I will give everything, every game," he said. "I just want to win. I hate to lose and I will fight for every ball, even if it is my head or my feet, I am going." Muharemovic made three appearances for Bosnia-Herzegovina at the World Cup, including in the last-32 defeat by co-hosts the United States. In that match, he was fouled by Folarin Balogun and the US forward was sent off, though his suspension was later waived by Fifa after an intervention from US President Donald Trump and White House officials. Born in Slovenia's capital Ljubljana, Muharemovic began his career in Austrian football, making his debut with Wolfsberger in 2021.
